Signal chain: Gibson SG '61 Reissue->THR10->Cubase LE4 All THR settings were the same, only the version is different No post A comparison between the old THR10 (V1) and the new, updated THR10 (V2).But after running into a compatibility problem between SBCL and Clisp while developing a script for maintaing an automatic mirror of my music collection where flac files are converted to much smaller ogg files, I decided I might as well do what has to be done for using SBCL. I have previously developed some Commom Lisp shell scripts with Emacs/Slime/SBCL and used Clisp for running the scripts. Therefore, there's just no reason to learn Common Lisp nowadays. In this regard, though, it doesn't offer anything that younger systems like Python or Ruby don't. Common Lisp's sole purpose is providing a practical environment in which to program real-world applications. Here's my take on this whole Scheme-vs-Common-Lisp issue.
